The complete-job checklist
Every installation we quote is a complete job, not a boiler on a wall. In full:
- The boiler itself, sized to your radiator count
- A horizontal flue
- A wireless room thermostat
- A magnetic system filter
- Chemical cleanse and long-term inhibitor
- All fittings
- Building Regulations notification to your local authority
- Compliance certificate posted to you
- Manufacturer warranty registered in your name
- Old boiler and packaging taken away
Where cheap quotes make their savings
Leave out the magnetic filter and the cleanse, and a quote drops — and so does the warranty's chance of surviving a claim, since manufacturers can refuse cover on a dirty system. Leave out the Building Regulations notification and the paperwork becomes your problem when you sell the house. A cheap quote is often a partial quote.
What a fixed quote means here
Ours are written and itemised after a free survey, and they do not move unless you change the scope. The survey is the reason the figure can be fixed: it catches the things that add cost — an undersized gas pipe, a flue re-route, a sludged system — before you commit, not after.
Questions worth asking any installer
Is the flue included? The thermostat? The filter? Is the system being chemically cleaned and dosed, and will you register the warranty? Who notifies Building Regulations? Ten minutes of questions separates a complete quote from a headline number.
