17-year-old Worcester Greenstar Ri with a failed heat exchanger, replaced like for like
The main heat exchanger had failed on a heat-only Greenstar Ri that had done 17 years in a kitchen cupboard. On a boiler that age it is the one repair that rarely adds up, so the customer chose a new boiler with a ten-year guarantee.

- Worcester Greenstar Ri 18kW heat-only boiler with a hot water cylinder, 17 years old, carrying a Do Not Use label after the heat exchanger failed.
- Chosen boiler
- Worcester Greenstar Ri ErP 18kW, like for like into the same cupboard, keeping the cylinder and existing pipework so the job took one day.
- Work
- Old boiler and flue removed, new boiler and flue fitted, Worcester magnetic filter on the return by the cylinder, system cleaned and dosed with inhibitor, commissioned on the analyser.
- Guarantee
- 10-year Worcester Bosch manufacturer guarantee, registered in the customer's name on the day.
